Mackenzy Lowe is from Fort Leonardwood, Missouri/US, and is majoring in K-12 Special Education at Park University. On the interview below, she provides details about her major and her day by day at school.

What is Special Education?
Mackenzy: "Special education is educating students with disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome.. anything that makes a student different than others while learning!"
what is your opinion about your major?
Mackenzy: "Education classes are not easy! A lot of people think that it is an easy major, but there is a lot of work with education! With sped, I really have to understand my students and how to help them best.”
Where do you intend to work in the future?
Mackenzy: “My plan is to teach in Colorado!”
Do you consider all of your classes relevant?
Mackenzy: “Every class I have is a building block to my future! I feel like all the classes I am taking will help me with my degree!"
Why did you choose Special Education?
Mackenzy: “I decided my major in high school! I met a wonderful girl who has autism and I felt as though she was put in my life to help me find my passion! I want to surround my life around people with disabilities. I find them so pure and they need people in their lives who truly care about them!”
